"The Cirque Du Freak Series" By: Darren Shan (Real name is Darren O' Shanigahn... I think)
"Cirque Du Freak" is a series that i would call Action, Adventure, Suspense, and HORROR! But i would mainly call it, Suspense and HORROR! This series is about a boy who's a human but then half-vampire and then he blah blah blah his friend dies blah blah blah torture happens blah blah blah! If you read the book you will find out what BLAH BLAH BLAH means! So to some who are scared of HORROR here is a definition of the series HORROR level which I call the "Shanighan HORROR level!" First, I have to say that each book gets scarier and scarier but the first is not scary at all! If you have seen the movie and was like "Oh, it's not scary" Wrong!!!!!! The movie is nothing like the book! I would call the movie a disgrace and I am sad to find out how this movie went! They say it's based on book 1, 2, and 3 but it's nothing like the book. So don't watch it! So here is the "Shanigahn HORROR level" with book 1, 2, 3, and 4! Book 1-A person gets injured but gets cured and no blood is seen Book 2- A person dies with limited detail Book 3- Somebody gets tortured and you get the clue of how he does it (Those of you who know don't tell others! They have to read it!). Book 4 (From pg.75)- Three people die and two are described in unlimited detail and it's very gory. So i will tell you later how book 5 goes! SO i suggest to those who like suspension and HORROR and it is an awesome book (By the way if you ever read books 1-4 and you want to quiz me... Bring it on! And some of you know how many facts i know about this book! When i find more i will tell you but one fact is told in here and it's at the beginning of my report) Terence suggests:
People. Listen Up! I got a great book for you! It's called "Stormbreaker" by Anthony Horowitz. It's about an average 14 year old boy that becomes an international spy for a secret organization in Europe. It's a fifth grade reading level but it is worth it. Also, if you like this book you can continue reading the rest of the series. Stormbreaker will keep you wondering the whole entire book! Isabella suggests: I would like to recommend a series by Lauren Myracle called "eleven," "tweleve," and "thirteen" to the 6th grade girls. These are very good books and I think everyone should read them. They are about a girl named Winnie sarting middle school and all the adventures that she experiences there. I love this book and it is one of the best books i have ever read! Joshua suggests: A book or series that I would recommend is the "ALEX RIDER" series for boys because this series of books is filled with action packed adventures of a fourteen year old boy who saves the world one mission at a time. Justin K. suggests: "The Lemonade War" by Jacueline Davies. I think that 6th grade should read this book because it is about competition with money and you learn the ways of life by teaching you how to deal with money in a case with your older or younger brother or sister .Also the news paper USA Today says that it is "Entertaining... Good reading for young capitalists." If you do not know wht a capitalists is, it is a person that lives in the world as a money making person. For example: The USA is a capitalist society. Isabel suggests: "Twelve" by Lauren Myracle. I would recommend this book to a 6th grader because it's a story about what a twelve year old girl is going through in life and what to expect in the 6th grade. Its an intersting book but i think its good one! |
