Since the ending of "The Giver" was so ambiguous, we get to choose a fate for Gabe and Jonas ourselves. How do you think it ended? Did Jonas and Gabe die, did they find the "Elsewhere" they were looking for, or did something entirely different happen? Share your thoughts!!

"What does Lent mean to you?"
We've worked on our Lenten crosses, discussed ways we can sacrifice and give to our community... but what does this season truly mean to each of you? This is your new blog post. Click here and start typing, or drag in elements from the top bar.
Before our 2nd trimester comes to an end, 6th grade will be collecting gift cards and passes for movie theaters and amusement parks. These tickets and certificates will be donated to Five Acres, an organization working with abused and neglected children and their families. Visit their website for more info and stay tuned for a word from 6th graders about this project.
http://www.5acres.org/weeblylink_new_window Since we didn't get time to discuss it in class, I wanted to remind everyone that tomorrow is the day we will distribute Valentine's to our class. If you are bringing any cards for your classmates, please make sure that you have enough for everyone!
After today's educational assembly on internet safety, I thought it would be good for us to open up a discussion. Feel free to post some thoughts or questions, maybe you can even share something you learned.
Hi again! I know we all love getting into the season and whoever doesn’t is crazy, but its their opinion. Decorating and spending time with our families is a great especially around this time of year. I want you to tell us what one word that describes your family during this season or winter or on Christmas day. Five words or under could describe a tradition, something you do (go caroling, go to Big Bear) or even a type of spirit you guys are in on Christmas day (happy, thankful, joyous). Just make sure the word is true in its meaning. Have a happy season!
Hello everyone, as you know Christmas is coming soon and we are all getting into the spirit. Everyone is excited, happy, joyful, and peaceful and we are spending time with our families. I wanted to know, what does this season or Christmas mean to you?? In the simplest way you can think of, what does it mean to you. To me it means that we love and share what we have, and we are joyous and thankful (bringing Thanksgiving into the picture) and we spend time with one another and are happy. It is a time of celebration!
(Well mine was longer than I expected so however long yours is, is fine.) |
